Website Designer Brand Photos - Paper and Pearl Creative Co

As a brand photographer, I love helping businesses shine through photos that tell their story. When Annie, the creative force behind Paper and Pearl Creative Co., reached out, she had a clear mission: to showcase her web design skills and personality with high-quality, professional visuals that felt truly like her.

And let me tell you—it was a journey packed with creativity, collaboration, and plenty of fun! 🎉✨

The Challenge: From Overwhelmed to Organized

“When I started my website design business I knew that good, high quality images to use for my website, emails, and social media would be a big piece of showcasing my own work.’ Annie shared.

’I knew that if I was going to suggest to future clients the importance of good photos then I should also do the same.

I also had no idea what I was doing.

Having Shannon there to make sure I brought all the right props and got all the shots I wanted was important to me. ”

The Process: Collaboration, Creativity, and Fun

Our session kicked off with serious prep magic:

📌 Shot List Goals: We mapped out every essential shot Annie needed to showcase her process and personality. If your brand photographer isn’t doing this - big red flag.

🎨 Pinterest Board: Collaborating on a mood board helped us nail her chic, modern vibe. I also have that board up along with my shot list the day of on my laptop.

📷 Shooting Tethered: I shoot tethered to a laptop so when I take an image its immediately visible. It helps ensure every detail is on point. And! My clients can choose their fave images that day!

🎬 Props Galore: Laptop, pearls, fun shoes and paper collage helped highlight her brand.

If you were to describe working with me to a friend, what would you say?

Shannon makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She helps bring your vision to life! She adds so many creative elements to make it a fun and enjoyable experience.

What advice would you give to someone preparing for their first brand photoshoot?

When preparing for your first Brand photoshoot be as organized and detailed as possible. Having a list of shots we are trying to get helps everyone stay on track.

As the person in front of the camera so much is happening that I forgot a lot of shots I wanted.

But because Shannon had the shot list up on her computer it was so much easier to look over and make sure we got everything.

How would you recommend others choose the right photographer for their brand?

I feel like when it comes to picking someone for photography I personally go off of the vibe of the person.

Being photographed, is a somewhat vulnerable thing to do. If this person is someone I can just hang out and talk to, who makes me feel comfortable, I am more likely to book them.

Any other advice to others you'd like to add?

Be yourself and make it fun!

Again it’s kinda a vulnerable thing to have your photograph taken.

Not everyone is super comfortable in front of a camera so the more fun you can have with your photographer the better the experience!

During my shoot, we played music the whole time, chatted about life, and just enjoyed the day!

The Result: A Confident, Cohesive Brand

“The final images are better than I could have ever envisioned!” Annie said. “I look so cool, confident, and chic—which is exactly the vibe I wanted.

My brand now feels cohesive and real, and it’s made such a difference in how I show up online!”
